Snowboard Recycling – Never Throw Out Another Board

Written by Griff on August 25, 2008 – 6:41 am -

Several colorado companies are recyling used snowboards and old snowboarding gear. This joint effort is the first of its kind in the country, called “Keep Winter Cool: Snow Sports Recycling Solution”. Riders can bring in their old skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, and poles to keep unwanted equipment out of local landfills.

Equipment in usable condition will be donated to charity, and unusable equipment will be shredded and used to manufacture new items such as furniture, decking, flooring and more. To help fund the program, an optional recycling fee of $5 will be added to new purchases.

Finally skiiers and snowboarders, most of whom are conscious of environmental issues, have an environmentally friendly way to recycle used snowboards!
