Ski Purgatory!
When the Duncan Family founded Durango Mountain Resort in Southwest Colorado back in 1965, little did they realize that “skiiers aren’t normal people”. Also known as Purgatory or “Purg” to the regulars, Durango’s terrain is unique…the natural shelves collect fresh powder like no other making skiing and snowboarding this Resort area a one-of-a-kind Snowboarder’s Dream. Look for weekday passes if you are lucky enough to live close by.
The Paradise Freestyle Arena
Durango Mountain hosts a Purgatory terrain park that is over a half mile long and 600 vertical feet. Open to both boarders and skiiers, this park will test your nerve and your skills. The park includes a 450 foot half-pipe with 15 foot walls, boxes, and jibbing rails.
